The other day I recently received an e-mail from a very good friend who is VERRY good at telling me the truth…this is probably why we are such good friends.
In said e-mail she told me
“your Nepali-English is crazy these days....I see a slow decline in your spelling! ha! It happens to everyone at some point. I remember when my mom finally said something! ha!”
You see, the problem stems from the fact that every day I am dummying down my English. For example rather than saying something like
“I wasn’t feeling very well yesterday so I decided to stay home,” I would say
“Yesterday, my stomach was paining, so I sleep.”
As my friend also pointed out my spelling is in a general decline as well…not that it was all that good to begin with. Nepalese spell everything phonetically. Surprisingly enough this tends to rub off on a person.
I tell you all of this because if you are reading my blogg this is most likely not your first time and I just wanted to tell you “than you”….thank you for sticking with me in times of extreme grammatical errors, poor spelling, and all around bazaar phrasing.
